We turned two on 12th April 2011.
We both swore not to eat outside after spending a bomb at Botanical Gardens last year so i took a day off to prepare dinner. The man requested for a western cuisine and he got his wish. He doesn`t need to even say a word but from his cheeky eyes, i`d already knew what he was thinking about. I am just, just so so glad he enjoyed his little candlelight dinner,. the home way.

I love my man alot and looking forward to many many more years ahead, InsyaAllah.

I finally come to my senses and bought me a stand mixer. I was contemplating between a Kentwood or a KitchenAid one. Kentwood cause it`s cheaper compared to KitchenAid. But KitchenAid attracted me most with its sleek colours. I am such a sucker for colours by the way. Kentwood`s in boring metallic silver.

I was doing my research on Mayer`s KitchenAid and came across the Pink Artisan. For every Pink Artisan purchased, Mayer will donate $50 to The Cure. So why not i make a little something right? So yeah, i got the pink one (thank god i love pink!). I received a free cookbook too!

One of the many things i love about my husband is that he never fails to crack me up. Just the other day, we were shopping for some household items and i told him we needed a new ironing board. He immediately set his eyes on this tiny silver thing which costed $16.90. I wasn`t too happy cause 1) It is made of a very thin chipboard and deftly isn`t steady enough (it will rock as i iron, you know that kinda thing?) 2) it IS silver in colour. But my man, being the ever so thrifty person he is, he inisisted that it will be good enough. I just shrugged and leave it to him to decide. For a while, he stood there. Then he pointed out to the huge and the most expensive of all ironing boards. To cut a long story short, he bought for me the huge one. Just because it is PINK, which is my favourite colour. I burst out laughing and he did, too. He told me if he didn`t get the pink one for me, i would`ve grumbled and caused his ears to bleed. (sorry, i`m not that type of person. at the very most, you`ll see the laundry basket full only what )

And while i was testing out our new iron ( i was so used to Philips, but we bought Tefal instead for a change), he was grumbling about how slow i was and by the time i finish all the ironing, the utility bill would shot up (exaggeration as per norm). I gave him one dirty look and he immediately knew i was mad pissed. And so he made his exit by saying “What about having some Macdees for Supper??” with oscilating eyebrows.

You see what i mean? He sure knows what to do. My husband. I cannot believe i`m married sometimes. To a wonderful man.

I pray to Allah that we`ll be together even in Jannah, Insyaallah.

Renovation Part 1

And so we did painting last Sunday and then yesterday, they hacked the flooring. The house wasn`t as dusty as we expected, Thank God! If not i would have had a hard time scrubbing the entire house with Dettol. I`m a cleanaholic, no doubt about that. Daniel gets a bit annoyed when i told him 101 rules. No smoking in the house (unless we have guests over. THAT i have no say lor), No dumping of clothes and socks together, Towels changed every three days, Bedsheets changed every 10 days or so (not more than two weeks though!), The entire wardrobe have to be colour coordinated and fold, bathroom counter have to be dry all the time (hey, that white cloth hanging is there for a purpose ! ), flush after every use and the list goes on. I think it`s essential to practice good hygiene cause when we have kids down the road, we would want them to be disciplined, wouldn`t we? We should set a good example for them Now that we don`t have a domestic helper anymore, i will have to do everything myself, which i am more than happy to do so.

Anyway, moving on to the renovation works…

I`m so loving the colours on my new wall now! I never thought Blue would be attractive!

I love having my own space but i`m so used to having so many people around me, so staying on our own is a bit too much for me. But nevertheless, i know i`ll manage. The first person i missed so much is my little caterpillar niece.

housewarming headache!

and just as we thought it`s gonna be over soon, we are swamped with a couple of housewarming party to hold. this part, really give us a massive headache. I cannot possibly invite each and everyone of our group of friends at one go. I want to enjoy the company of each of my guests, thus the separation. I have no idea how to do it, but we`ll figure something out, eventually.

Funny how we always think of IKEA first when we know their stuffs don`t always last long. Irony as it seem, we headed down to IKEA yesternight to get us a couple of bedroom stuffs. We tried as much as possible NOT to sidetrack. We managed to! yay to us. Usually we ended up getting more than what we should. I don`t want to be impulsive as before, and always ended up giving away half of what i bought.

we`re collecting the roller blind and curtain poles tomorrow and i can`t wait! We wanted to get the Roman blind instead for the small window near the dining area but Roman`s better for rooms, yes? SO yeah, Roller it is.

It`s amazing how the man and i have great collab. we argued a lot initially and i almost gave everything up and told daniel to do every single thing his way. but i guess, arguing do have its perks. He decided that my opinions count and that he needs to open up t0 my suggestions, silly or not.

And he also realised he`s bad with colours coordinations. He cannot visualise. I have to slowly help him, like bringing him to IKEA and let him know what i exactly mean and also showed him pictures from the world web. It helped a whole lot! It takes a lot of effort and patience to sort everything out.

We attended a BBQ over at Jawa`s bike shop. It was awesome and they engaged a professional photographer to snap this shot. this is only a preview, by the way. It lasted till 3am and all of us were knocked out, especially the kiddos.

i`ve always asked myself why am i constantly running for time here and there and wished that i have more than 24 hours a day. yada yada.

truth be told, eversince i start working and gotten married, i`m always pressed for time. the fact that i stay on my own now makes time even more precious. we stay barely five minutes away from my parent`s but still, it`s different. i`m still a daddy`s girl no matter where i am and how big i`ve grown

so currently we`re doing a little bit of changes for the house. both daniel and i wanted something contemporary and cosy without spending much on interior designers. we wanted to save as much as possible because for one, we might not stay in Singapore for long. Nothing has been confirmed yet for now so we`re taking things reaaaaal slow. i mean, i still cannot bear to stay somewhere else without my dear parents.

we`re just waiting for the good people to come and do the renovations for us next week and we`re hoping for everything to be ready by end of this month (ready means furniture in, bed in, lighting installed, curtains in, teevee mounted, water feature in, kitchen stuff all in and decors up!) so that we could have a prayer and small feast for the family by early december before we fly off to Jakarta for our short trip.

seeing everything fall into places slowly is the best thing one could experience. thank god daniel`s a good planner (although he screwed up a bit here and there, but that`s okay) so all i have to do is coordinate with the respective people to confirm the delivery date and time.

I`m a wee bit excited for the changes and looking forward to spending it with my man. on a good note, he has been offered a good job with one of the biggest international oil and gas company. Alhamdullilah.

Another happy note, daniel open up his own business a month ago and so far, he`s doing good. within a month he has a few projects on hand and i am happy for him. As a wife, i try my very best to support him morally and contribute wherever possible needed.

He`s handling a few things at a time and i know how it feels. The stress level he is facing is beyond description. But i know my man is a strong-willed person. I know he can.

I`m starting school again on 3rd of January next year, this time committed for at least 3 years of my life.

Hi, It has been a while since my last post.

I thought i just update a little on what we have been up to recently =)

We went for a 2nd Hornymoon in August to Hua Hin. The place is xoxomazing. And five wonderful days just flew by like that when you`re enjoying yourself.

Hua Hin is about two and half hours away from Bangkok. We booked a limo to transport us to and fro from Bangkok International Airport. It`s a small town, The houses there are beautiful and so are the people. I had been mistaken for a Thai, a Philipino & a Columbian (??). Maybe cause of my super tanned skin. The weather was scorching hot, thank god. It did rained a little while we`re swimming but that `s okay. We were wet anyway.

I wish for another trip like this with the man of my life.
